Expects the gut-health and skin improvement effect via microbial metabolites   (PROSTEMICS=November 10, 2017)   Prostemics (KOSDAQ 203690) announced on November 10 that it signed an MOU with Dong-guk University about clinical trial for development of ingredients for health functional food and medicine.   Prostemics is studying regulation of intestinal microbiome and optimization of gut environment for gut health improvement and immunoregulation for regulation and improvement of brain and skin using microbial metabolites distinct from other traditional probiotics   In accordance with this MOU, Prostemics will do clinical trials about gut health and skin improvement effects of functional food ingredients using microbial metabolites with gastroenterology professor, Yoon-Jung Lim team, Dong-guk university lisan Medical Center.   Also, the two institutes plan to work together in diverse areas including collaboration researches and technology development, technical exchanges and co-network including health functional food and medicine ingredient development for 2 years.   This MOU is distinct from other industry-academia collaboration in that it covers not just clinical trials but also product development consulting via the agreement with a university hospital.   Academic society is attending to the importance of the gut, calling it ‘the second brain’. Prostemics announced its entry into the health functional food business, and is doing a governmental project regarding it.
